Project Introduction.
Reverse Engineering is basically the process of taking a product apart, and seeing how it works internally. We had to do this to design improvements for an Automoblox Truck. We saw that normally on trucks, they have something to tow with, so we designed a tow hitch. We also noticed that trucks are tall, so we designed a foot rail to make it easier for the people to actually climb into the truck.
Reverse Engineering.
Visual Analysis: The visual analysis process is the process in which study the outside of the part, and look at all the parts on the outside in detail.
Functional Analysis: You test the part, and see what it does and how all the parts you studied are used by the product.
Structural Analysis: This is the step where you take apart the product, and see the internal pieces, and how they are incorporated with the outside pieces.

Define a Problem.
We briefly talked about what our roles would be in this project. We came to a conclusion that I would do some of the project, my partner would do some of the project, and some of the requirements needed both of us to do them. This required going into our schedules and figuring out what we both had time to do over the break.
Day 1, 2, 3, and 4 refer to the actual school days we had to work on these, but we also worked on some of these over the break.
Generate Concepts.
Develop A Solution.
Construct and Test Prototype.
Evaluate Solution.
My mom said that they where great additions, as they would be useful to any truck. She suggested we add more color to them, and maybe recolor the truck, but that's really all it needs.
My dad said he liked the additions, because he uses them every day, and it would be tough to work without them. He says he couldn't think of a truck without a tow hitch, as that's normally what trucks are used for.

Present Solution.
I think we had very good teamwork in this project. Even over the break, we were emailing each other and keeping in contact very easily. I think our final design was small, but it was very useful given the vehicle we were designing them for. I think both of our Inventor skills improved, as we had to edit parts that where already made for us, and that we had to design parts to add on. This project was also good at teaching us skills to really organize our project, since we had to use a Gantt Chart, Group norms, etc.
What factors must be considered when changing or enhancing a design? I think the parts that were already designed and dimensioned have to be considered, as they are the products that you have to design your product for.
Why is it important to document the brainstorming process? It is important because you can build off of those ideas, and you can also combine them to make one better product.
What is the purpose of sketching your ideas? The purpose is so you can have an image to build/design your product off of an image.
