Initial Problems
Problem #1: Microwave makes food container hot, but food stays cold.
This is a problem for everyone who uses or has used a microwave. Whether it's someone trying to get a quick snack at home or someone heating up a full meal at a restaurant, its very obvious when it happens and not a good time for anyone. I have only found 2-3 different sets of dinnerware that are somewhat ( but not completely) heat resistant in the microwave, but they cost upwards of 30 dollars per set.
Problem #2: Condensation build up on windshield/mirrors.
For many people, this problem can be everywhere during the day. From when someone wakes up and takes a shower and the mirror fogs up, to when you walk out to the car and cant see out of it because of the layer of condensation, to taking a cold bottle of water out of the refrigerator and getting everything wet. A possible solution that is already on the market is a condensation stopper that absorbs the moisture when it drips to the bottom, but that doesn't help the visibility issues presented.
Problem #3: Bulky Milk Cartons and Other Recycled Items Taking Up Space in Trash Can
Families are always trying to save money. With bills, mortgages, and car insurance building up debt month to month the common adult would always benefit from any possible maximization of resources. Trash bags are one of these resources. Weekly, families struggle with using all of the available space in a trash bag due to bulky disposable items such as milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and odd shaped boxes that are hard to break down. We want to create a hassle-free mechanism to dispose these items easier while maximizing trash bag space.
Problem #4: Peanut Butter and Other Jarred Foods being Stuck in Bottom of Jar
Once again the thought of saving money is one that is very concurrent and desired to be incorporated as much as possible. The question of "Are we utilizing as much as much as possible?" is always brought to the table with modern families, and every little last bit of food is always wanted to be eaten rather than buying a whole new jar, can, or box. This idea comes up the most with jarred foods such as peanut butter. We want to create a mechanism that can maximize food usage while saving money for families as well.
Problem #5: Having to carry extra layers
Weather is something almost every human being has to factor into their day. For students, what to wear to class on any particular day can be a tough decision, as you do not want to be unprepared, however having to take off layers and carry them around all day is quite a nuisance. While most students do carry backpacks, stuffing a sweatshirt or jacket in with your school supplies creates disorganization and difficulty in efficiently removing items you need out of your now over-stuffed bag.
Problem #6: Walking and Standing w/ an Injury Can be Painful and Annoying
Many people suffer leg injuries every day. Walking and standing can be painful and damaging to the injury, and is discouraged by most doctors yet humans were made to stand and most still do even with a recently injured leg. Crutches are given out to help accommodate this, however crutches are uncomfortable, still require standing, and are hated by most who have used them.

80% of citizens in the lower Eastern Shore area reported in October 2017 that they struggle with getting the last bit of food out of the jar when they are finished.
Summary
So far, this project has been going pretty smoothly so far. During the beginning, it took us a little while to finish brainstorming and really find an idea that we were all comfortable with working on for such a long time, but it was worth the wait. We have been making steady progress at completing the requirements all day, but our survey has taken a little while to get the required amount of responses. Despite the survey issue, we continued working and moved to Part B of our project while we wait continue to advertise our survey and wait for more responses.
