Test #1 Data
For our first test, we cleaned out an empty peanut butter jar and filled it with 6 ounces of peanut butter. We also filled the Butter Buddy with 6 ounces of the same peanut butter. Using 2 scrapes with a large butter knife, one clockwise and one counter clockwise, we were able to recover 2.7 ounces of peanut butter. Next, we used the Butter Buddy, and were able to recover almost all 6 ounces! The Butter Buddy recovered 5.8 ounces of the 6 ounces we had in the container at the time, so this means our first test was successfully passed.
Test #2 Data
For our second test, we decided to test the effectiveness of our product using three different types of peanut butter. We used regular creamy, organic creamy, and organic crunchy peanut butter for our test. All three different peanut butters passed the test by scraping at least or more than 90% of the peanut butter from the jar.
Changes/Adjustments
We did not make any changes or adjustments to our product for our tests, and it seems like we wont really need to. Since this is a prototype, we would change the material we used if we were to put this on the market, but we haven't had to make any changes to the design of our product.
Summary
Our testing went really well, and I was actually a bit surprised. Because our prototype is a bit rough on the inside, I wasn't expecting it to work as well as it did because I thought the peanut butter was going to get stuck in the little grooves. I was pleasantly surprised when our prototype removed almost all of the peanut butter from the butter buddy. So far, we are on task and on the right track to a successful capstone presentation.
